Introduction

Pantech's Two Wire Transmitters, model 872 is designed over low drift, low power components. The transmitter is deisgned to accept universal type RTD / thermocouple like temp. inputs or other Linear inputs, and provide 4-20mA DC signal on the same two wires, which carry the 24 V DC. Note that the user can select any one of the available RTD/thermocouple/LInear inputs by configuring through front fascia keys. The transmitter is also optionally equipped with a local 4 digit LCD/LED display to exhibit the input signal value as configured for. All the configurations like : input signal type selection, ZERO and SPAN adjustments for display range and outputs can be done through front keys only. The output signal of 4 – 20mA DC capable of driving a load of upto 800°. This eliminates needs to run compensating cable or three core cable between the field and control room. For thermocouple inputs, CJC compensation is inbuilit. The output is linear w.r.t. the input temperature signal. The transmitter is available in field mounted / panel mounted housings as required.

Model 872 Features

1. Allows the user to select the input signal type . The 2 wire transmitter allows the use to select any one of RTD / Thermocouple diff. types / Linear inputs by front keys only.

2. The ZERO and SPAN configurations is done by the front keys only. Hence the display ranges and output signal ranges are also configured. This feature allows the user to take output signal / display range on any subset range of the whole input temperature range.

3. The display can be optional feature also.

4. 4-20 mA DC can be given galvanically isolated.
